Hi there! My name is Shirley, and I "Make Stuff". Since my kidhood, I've always found making pretty things with my hands to be very fulfilling. After having been a professional nerd (software developer) for 30 years, I decided to focus entirely on making pretty things rather than making software and became a professional bead maker / jewelry maker / teacher. I began making jewelry in 1996, became an official pyromaniac in January of 2000, and started teaching flamework classes in 2004. You can find me selling my creations at bead shows, knit and crochet shows, and from my website. I teach glass bead making at the Bay Area Glass Institute and hold jewelry making classes at my own studio. In my free time, I keep myself entertained by hanging out with my 2 feisty Jack Russell Terriers - Peanut, our senior citizen, and Niki the Weird and Wild. |
